Though campaigns and editing events, like editathons, have been the conventional way to fill knowledge gaps, they are not always effective at creating high quality content that can endure for a long time. Especially for hard to contribute to topics, a more focused and extended effort may be required. 

Here are some options that communities have chosen by other communities working other topics areas: 

Wikimedians in Residence

The most ubiquitous content intervention in the Wikimedia movement for working with partners, is the Wikipedian in Residence. Wikimedians in Residence support  staff at a partner organization, and identify how to best facilitate the partner and it’s audiences on the Wikimedia projects. Because Wikipedians in Residence are less focused on creating content, and are more focused on facilitating participation in the Wikimedia community, the can use many of the campaign tactics we have described already or some of the non-campaign tactics below to facilitate filling knowledge gaps.
