content | "
Individual impact -- having a theory of individual readers

One way to examine the potential impact of content, is to examine how it should impact the people searching for it: you might propose a theory of impact for those readers. Most of the time, this comes in the form of “if a reader in x context is reading these articles, then it has y impact”.

A good example of this is the theory of change for Women Do News. Instead of focusing on how useful biographies of women journalists are for the public through pageviews; their focus is on helping the women recognized widely for their journalism (i.e. getting prizes that make them Notable in the Wikipedia sense) can be more visible in the journalism ecosystem. Though many of the pages they will create will not have a lot of pageviews, these women journalists become more visible because they have Wikipedia articles.

Learn more about this theory of change on their "What we do" page:

" |
