One of the most flexible and widely used tools for creating lists in the Wikimedia movement is Petscan. Developed by Magnus Manske, it allows Wikimedians to create lists using many different facets of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metadata" target="[object Object]">metadata</a> about Wikimedia content.

In order to teach Petscan, we have edited a webinar originally hosted in early 2023 for #WikiForHumanRights to walk through the various parts of the tool. You can find the slide deck we used <a href="https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/17B28jxnLuGx3V6SY_JHEf8xOkuTyYAU2ps8crqwyo9s/edit" target="[object Object]">for the training here</a>.

Throughout the series of videos, we highlight, PETscan's adaptability for leveraging a local wikis information, Wikidata, and other for cross-wiki characteristics to empower folks in developing topics for , and its ability to excel in scenarios where other tools may have limitations.
