Unlike just using Categories or Wikidata, Petscan allows you to take advantage of other features of content organization on Wikipedia: like Templates and Links. By filtering your Petscan query you can often discover knowledge that other people added to articles, but didn't think of as important for other knowledge creators. 

This example uses the <a href="https://petscan.wmflabs.org/?psid=23229381" target="[object Object]">Crops Query </a>that was part of the training.
