<p>Unit 6 is focused on introducing you to the final parts of a project proposal related to Topics for Impact. With your final assignment, you will have the option to apply for a grant from the Carbon Fund created by the <a href="https://diff.wikimedia.org/2022/06/27/wikimedia-foundations-carbon-footprint-report-for-2021/" target="[object Object]">Wikimedia Foundation’s Internal Carbon Pricing.</a> The grants from the fund are designed to increase innovation around sustainability and climate themes.</p>

<p>Though you are not required to apply for a grant (many people in the course already have funding from their affiliate or an existing project) the format of the grant applications helps us articulate better the scope of your project -- by defining resources, people involved, measurements, theories of change and other key elements of Wikimedia projects. Also, by having the experience of drafting a Wikimedia Foundation grant application you will be better prepared for working on Grant funded projects in the future.</p>

<p>Your final assignment for this unit will be a draft grant application on how you would test your topic for impact campaigns or other activities related to the theme of the course: Sustainability and Climate. The draft will be due January 11, 2022 and the application deadline for the grant will January 27, 2023. </p>" |
