Expert Content interventions

One approach to address high-priority content gaps is to work directly with experts to fill the gap. There have been several projects run by Wikimedians in Residence who have done this (see for example, WikiProject Occupational Safety and Health).

WikiProject Occupational Safety and Health was created by a Wikipedian in Residence to facilitating sharing knowledge on Wikimedia projects about a key occupational safety knowledge gap.

In the Sustainability space, Elizabeth van Muensch has organized “Communication of environment SDGs” project. Instead of running editing events, a small group of paid Wikimedia editors consult with academic researchers about the opportunities and gaps around the content on Wikimedia. With that feedback the editing team, goes and modifies the pages after leaving the expert feed on the talk page.
